Aim of Summit

The Future of UK Manufacturing Summit was established to discuss and outline the proposed future for manufacturing within the UK and to provide a platform for leading industrialists and politicians from the main parties to outline their views on the changes that need to be made and the opportunities that exist within UK manufacturing from both a national and sector specific standpoint.

Initial output from the Summit is included in this website as well as a Boardroom Report called VOTE MANUFACTURING. This fuller report on the issues discussed at the conference, along with further interviews with industry leaders. 16,000 copies of the Boardroom Report were sent to engineering and operations directors at every significant UK manufacturing site, as well as to heads of technology in schools, colleges and universities, all MPs, parliamentary advisers and Whitehall/Regional Development Agency officials, plus senior managers in banks, consultancies, NGOs and suppliers supporting manufacturing businesses.

And watch out for further initiatives highlighting the importance of manufacturing to the UK’s economy.
